On July 5th, Governor Abbott issued a proclamation certifying a disaster declaration that included Burnet County. Therefore, if your property was damaged due to the July 4th weekend floods, you may qualify for some tax relief on that property. The valuation of the damage must be at least 15% of the overall designated 2025 market value of property. Any exemption that is applied will be prorated at as the date that the property was damaged.
